Almost every new client asks me the same question before we start:

“So… what do I need to buy? A crystal? A special plant? A mirror?”

And my answer always surprises them: almost nothing.

Most people think Feng Shui is about buying the right decor and placing it in the exact right spot. But that’s not where the real power is. The real power is in clearing, adjusting, and making small intentional choices with what you already have.

Here are 5 changes you can make in the next 10 minutes, no shopping required, that will immediately calm the energy in your home.

1. Clear your front entryway — really clear it

Your front door is the “mouth of energy” for your whole home. If it’s crammed with shoes, old coats, random bags and junk mail, energy can’t flow in properly. It gets stuck, and you’ll start to feel stuck too.

You don’t have to organize it perfectly. Just move the clutter out of the way. Wipe down the door. Turn on a light.

I’ve had clients tell me this one change alone made them feel lighter walking into their house within 24 hours. It sounds too simple to work. That’s exactly why it works.

2. Put one clear crystal on your nightstand

You don’t need a whole shelf of crystals. You don’t need an expensive fancy one. One single clear quartz point is all you need.

It doesn’t “do magic.” What it does is hold calm, steady energy — and that energy will fill the space around your bed.

If you’ve been sleeping poorly, or your mind races the second you lay down, try this. Most people notice a difference within 3 or 4 nights.

3. End every day with a clear desk

If you work from home, this one is non-negotiable.**A messy desk = a messy mind.** When you finish work for the day and just leave everything spread out, your brain never really “clocks out.” You’ll carry that work stress with you all evening, and you’ll wake up already feeling behind.

Take 2 minutes. Close your laptop. Put your papers away. Straighten the surface.

That small act tells your brain: work is done. Now it’s time to rest.

4. Add one small live plant near a window

Dead things drain energy. Live things feed energy.

You don’t need a green thumb. You don’t need a big plant. A small pothos or succulent on a windowsill is enough. It adds fresh, growing energy to the room, and it cleans the air while it’s at it.

If you kill plants, get a fake one? No, honestly. Fake plants carry dead energy. Get the hardest to kill plant you can find, and water it once a week. It’s worth it.

5. Move your phone charger out of your bedroom

This is the one everyone fights me on. And this is the one that gives the biggest results.

Phones and chargers put off constant electromagnetic energy. That energy disrupts the calm, restful energy your bedroom is supposed to have.

Charge your phone in the hallway, or the living room, or even just across the room — not on your nightstand, not under your pillow.

Almost every client who tries this says they sleep deeper, wake up less during the night, and feel less anxious in the morning.

None of these are hard. None of them cost money. None of them take more than 10 minutes.

Feng Shui isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making small, gentle shifts that add up to a big difference in how you feel.
